Divine Light Academy Pre-School Alternative Day - Filipiniana

(25th day of August 2012...late blog due to busy schedule)

For DLA's 1st Alternative Day, the pre-school were required to wear Filipino Costumes. Since Kimi already played a "magsasaka" before in Mulberry i decided to let him wear his old "magsasaka" costume. All the Pre-school students performed a simple Filipino inspired dance number. They also sang and dance to the tune of PBB's "Pinoy Ako". It was really fun to watch the kids perform and have fun. Eventhough Kimi had a little part in the dance, it still made my heart burst with so much happiness. Every parents was so proud seeing their little kids participate in DLA's pre-school special alternative dance number. All the student were also asked to bring Filipino foods so to have something to eat for a mini fiesta in DLA's pre-school building hallway.

Kimi's New Study Table - Keter Sit and Draw

Since my son will now start to learn how to write...a great study table will absolutely be of good help.

So daddy bought him a colorful, safe and cute study table that will give him ease in studying and writing.

Well today is the day (14th Day of June 2012)...my son will start his Kinder years.

Actually I'm more excited than him.

Kimi @ Divine Light Academy

We decided to transfer Kimi from Mulberry Hills School Manila to Divine Light Academy...from Montessori to Big School. We have no bad experience about Mulberry but we just want to introduce Kimi to a bigger school environment. In fact Kimi learned a lot from Mulberry...from being confident to speaking English fluently. So last Friday (25th Day of May 2012) we brought Kimi to Divine Light Academy for his examination. Supposed to be he should be in Nursery but if he'll be able to pass the exam he'll be jumping to Kinder. Luckily...he passed the exam and we are so proud of him.

My Son Knows How To Write...

I'm a proud and super happy mom because my 4 years old son knows how to write.

Last Tuesday (5th day of June 2012) I went to Divisoria to buy materials for my small business. I was so tired due to heavy load, scorching heat and long walks. When i arrive home...i didn't have enough energy to climb the stairs, but I was excitedly greeted by hubby and proudly announced that Kimi knows how to write his name (with little supervision). I just forgot how tired i am and started to jump and shout!. It's such a big deal to me...my baby is really ready for Kinder.

Mulberry Hills Work of My Little Hands Art Expo + Kimi's Report Card

Last month (24th of April 2012) before going to Buffet 101 we 1st drop by Mulberry Hills School to get  Kimi's report card. Mulberry Hills was currently having a Student Works Exhibit for that entire week and we're lucky to see all the Toddlers..."Work of My Little Hands" projects.

Kimi's Second Quarter Assessment
(+)
-Kimi is a sweet boy always approaching to give a naughty smile. (just like mommy and daddy)
- He can count on a one to one correspondence up to ten (he can even count up to 50..smart like Daddy)
-He identifies almost all colors and some shapes (he just love watching educational DVDs)
- He enjoys parallel play with his classmates.

- He should learn to follow classroom rules and routines.
- He needs to positively respond to correction and not resort to crying. (He's actually spoiled...mommy's fault)
- He has to be engaged in English conversation at home so he will adopt it as a second language. (gosh...sorry mommy is not good in English)

Kimi's Third Quarter Assessment
(+)
- Kimi always comes to school looking fresh and well groomed. (just like Daddy...clean looking)
- He identifies all the alphabets and numbers. (again result of his educational DVDs and our teaching as well)
- He loves reading so much. He is often the one who stays longest to read.

-He has to learn to comply to classroom rules and routines.
- He has to respond to correction positively and not resort to crying. (Again...)
- He needs focus and initiative to do simple tasks independently. (He has a Yaya who does everything for him ever since he was born...tsk tsk)

Kimi's  Fourth Quarter Assessment
(+)
- Kimi is expressive and affectionate especially to his teacher. (sweet like mommy and daddy)
- He is beginning to be independent and he is now trying to do things for himself. (finally!)
- He understands stories read to him and he answers follow up questions correctly.
- He has good memory retention. (Just like Daddy)

-He needs to be more interested and enthusiastic in classroom tasks - painting, drawing, writing.
- He should not resort to crying when he dos not get what he wants. (he always get what he wants at home..sigh)
- He has to overcome aggressive behaviour in the classroom.

A Valentine Heart

Well I almost forgot to post this....

I didn't received any expensive gift for Valentines.

But when i got home... i received something from my son...

It is something priceless...and it really made my Valentines the sweetest...

No letter or words...

but the excitement he felt and the smile on his face when he handed me this precious heart is more than enough.
